E-learning feedback

Points for consideration:

  • The examples used can be repetitious e.g. adding captions  and electric toothbrushes were used three times
  • I really liked the use of mini-quizzes/ matching up games to make sure there was a good understanding. Some areas would benefit from these maybe e.g. digital accessibility tools
  • A small point, but to access the accessibility menu on MS the windows and U buttons need to be pressed at the same time. My autistic mind found it too vague.
  • Personally, I don’t like videos and play them faster than normal, as they are painfully slow in my opinion. I thought the videos selected really added to my learning though. The W3C digital accessibility videos seemed slightly overwhelming in number and I thought, where is the alternative way to access this information? It then popped up when I pressed continue. Maybe that continue button needs to be removed/ altered so the information can also be seen.
  • There is a spelling error when talking about text over images. It says ‘red the text’
  • The scenarios for the different barriers were really useful in understanding the content, although I felt they were bordering on patronising. Particularly the Ali story. Maybe a rephrase? Also, would an image break up the text? A face? Or you could have a face with a speech bubble ‘I can’t do this, as this….’ type idea?
  • Could you introduce an acronym for the 4 areas to check on a document/ website? It would help me remember. I can’t think of a good one though!
  • I really liked the ability to practice on documents and to work out what was wrong etc. Actually doing it definitely helped me to remember the navigation routes.
  • For the alt text could you do a ‘What alt text’ would you write for this image?’ and then they flip it to show an example exercise. Then stating why this was left out/ included. I remember thinking it was harder than I realised when I came to do it for the first time.
  • You could add a mini quiz at the end to go through the content you want them to remember the most?
  • I would need a ‘crib’ sheet at the end to remember it all to relay it to someone else. I might have missed it if there is one. If I was delivering this, I would use some of your activity suggestions too e.g. look at this document and….
